Inspired by…a walk on the wild side

Solvitur ambulanto ~ it is solved by walking.

I love to walk. It is one of my favorite pastimes.  It is rejuventing and refreshing. The body moves, the mind calms. Some of my best problem sovling comes when out for a walk.

You’ll find the answer as you go.

solvitur ambulando, cross country skiing, whistler, walking I have been hitting the trails for a good couple of hours daily. It has been a winter wonderland here in Whistler. We have had over 8 ft of snow alone in March, 4 ft of which fell last week. More snow is on its way….

I have mixed feelings about snow in March. The days are longer and the hope of Spring is in the air.I actually let myself daydream about long summer days. Something I would never allow myself to do in February! It is important to embrace the  weather here otherwise it makes for a very long cold winter.

P.S. Sorry Flytribe girls…no cute shoes here! Its all boots, ski boots or snowshoes over here. I have come to the realization that I am a bit of a barefoot kind of girl. I am either in ski boots or barefoot….or flip flops when life is really good!

  1. Beautiful photos!! I sooo want to learn how to cross country ski…lame that I don’t know how..especially since I grew up in Montana and now live in Wyoming!!! It would make winter days so much easier…getting out enjoying the sunshine in winter sometimes proves to be difficult but not as difficult when you’re in skis!

  2. Julie, I see that our unusually warm winter did not make it to Whistler. I dont know what I would do with al that snow! Good thing you have such a sweet spirit to get you through! It is a beautiful backyard to play in I imagine! Warm wishes being sent your way…

  3. Gorgeous pics! Don’t worry about the lack of glamorous footwear, my daily footwear consists of sloggers, muck boots, wellies, paddock boots…all decidedly unglamorous, with the possible exception of my red cowgirl boots. Great post!

  4. ahh those trails . . .
    snow’s melting in Switzerland

    out I go
I’ll dedicate my walk to you 🙂

  5. Wow! How beautiful are these pics! I love Whister!! My favorite thing about ski boots is taking them off 😉 Thanks for sharing your gorgeous photos!

  6. Hi Friend! What a lovely post. Just stunning photos. Thanks for sharing the beauty that surrounds you. No snow in Austin, Texas this year at all. Most years, its seems we at least get a dusting, but not this year. In fact, we may have just had the shortest winter on record. But, I’m OK with it. One of the reasons I live here.
