Inspired by…a change of scenery

I often forget how important a change of scenery is to liven up any outlook. For us it took an  8 hour jaunt through the mountains to travel from one ski resort another.

Silverstar Mountain ~ A colorful, little ski town nestled in the mountains high up above  Vernon B.C.

A road trip to help renew our love for skiing, appreciate family life and a chance to bask in some glorious weather.

Bluebird days combined with a gentle breeze and beautiful views are enough to make anyone sing.

A 2 hour nordic ski with only the sound of the crisp, dry snow under my skis. Not a soul in sight.

And now for something entirely different…Off to NYC!!

Inspired by…a new year

Is it ever going to end?

The New Year is almost here…Thank god!  My tune has changed during the past week. I need everyone out of this town. I have had a blast, but I need some normalcy back in my life. I need to eat some vegetables.Drink more water.Do some laundry. Sleep.

I need one of those double sided door mats. Welcome on one side – Go Away on the other. My favorite card of the season..Love our guests…this is how we roll..

life choices,

Its hard not getting caught up in everyone elses vacation. I always try to stop and remember that living here on a daily basis is my reality, but when everyone else is having so much fun… I get caught up in their energy and want to join in.

Reminder to self – I am not on a 24/7 vacation…

Reality hit hard yesterday when I sauntered home from Apres after a very long fun-filled afternoon of dancing in my ski boots. I had a smile on my face for 6 hours. Lost my voice somewhere along the way..

whistler art gallery

Was lucky enough to stumble upon this though! I took a break from the dance floor  and wandered around. Found this at the Whistler Village Art Gallery in the Four Seasons. Beautiful artwork by Tinyan Chan.   I can’t stop thinking about it. I may have to go back for another visit.

Today has been glorious.. The house is empty except for the dog and I. We are on the couch in front of the fire. The snow is falling….

Played with my camera. Read some Julia.Spend some time hanging with my fly tribe girls.Wrote about my goals and aspirations for 2012….Worked on my word for the year.

Still do not have my word of the year.

I can’t come up with just one.

So I have decided to let it go and come up with my own game plan….

Will post when I am finished!

I am looking forward to hearing your word of the year…and holding you accountable!

Wishing all of you a fantastic, awe-inspiring new year! I have so enjoyed the last 5 months of blogging and my time with all of you. I really love and appreciate the group of like-minded souls I have met.

Thank you so much for all of your comments, suggestions, advice and good old camaraderie.

Cheers to 2012!

Look who is still hanging around!!

Inspired by…a little christmas cheer

I love this time of the season. Whistler is bustling with people from all over the world. Happy cheerful people. Lots of excitement in the air.

We have had a number of bluebird days in a row.The sun is shining!
Unfortunately, while the sun brings smiles, snow brings even bigger smiles. Everyone is enjoying the sunshine, but you can feel the need and want for some freshly fallen snow. A perfect day here is one that snows by night, sun by day. Those are the days when you feel like you have stepped into a little piece of heaven here on earth.

Living in a resort town guarantees you guests. Our home has been full for over a week and there is no sign of it letting up much before the new year.We have a bit of an open door policy around here.So much so that I found a bear in my garage the other day…

no food...just some recycling and christmas receipts

It is way past his bedtime…he obviously needs a calendar.

In the Christmas spirit I felt like wrapping him up a little to-go package of food, sending him on his merry way to sleep with a full belly.

I hope your holiday season is filled with lots of love!

Be mindful…slow down, appreciate, enjoy. We have so much to be grateful for.

Happy Holidays!
